Ketki Sheth is an Assistant Professor in Economics at UC Merced, and a faculty affiliate of the Center for Effective Global Action (CEGA). Her research focuses on increasing gender equality and achieving three key dimensions of human development emphasized in international development: financial access, health, and education. Her recent research includes exploring gender discrimination as an explanation for gender gaps in entrepreneurial success, and whether digital finance increases financial access. Sheth’s research methods utilize primary data collection and experimental methodologies, such as lab experiments and randomized controlled trials, in low and middle-income countries. She has collaborated with the World Bank, BRAC International, and various government agencies, and has research projects in several countries, including India, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Rwanda, and Uganda. Sheth received her PhD from UC San Diego.
